Wearables

What needs a watch and what does not

  • Needs a wearable: Sleep score. It reads stages and efficiency from an overnight recording, so the watch has to be worn while you sleep.
  • Needs a wearable: Stress score. It reads heart-rate variability and resting heart rate through the day, so this one is the most device-dependent thing in the app.
  • Partly: Fitness. Steps come from the phone, but VO2 max and heart-rate zones come from a watch.
  • No wearable needed: Food, Meal plan, Blood Report, Body composition, OvaFlow, Ara, Journal, Medication reminder, Health News, and logging a workout by hand.

Baselines

Some things need time, not hardware

The stress score is measured against your own baseline rather than a population average, which is what makes it worth reading. It also means the app has to watch you for roughly two weeks before the number means anything.

Cycle prediction in OvaFlow learns the same way. The first estimates are rough and sharpen as you log.

Connection

Online and offline

  • Works offline: logging, reading your own history, reminders, the journal.
  • Needs a connection: Ara, AI workout and meal generation, Health News, and translating the app into a new language.
  • Praana pins the AI model version it uses, so an answer does not silently change behaviour because a provider repointed an alias.
