Free apps usually mean a version of the app. This is the app. All thirteen features are available from the moment you install it, including the ones that cost real money to run.

What it does not do

Four things this page is promising you

• No in-app purchases. Nothing inside the app charges you for anything.
• No subscription, so there is nothing to cancel and no renewal date to remember.
• No ads. Your data is not used to select them, because there are none.
• No free trial, so nothing stops working after a fortnight.

The honest part

Why an app can be free, and when that gets hard

Praana costs almost nothing to run for one more person. Your health data stays on your phone, in Apple Health or Health Connect, so there is no server holding it and no bill that grows with the number of people using it.

The exception is Ara and the other AI features. Those call a language model, and that has a per-question cost paid by the developer. It is affordable today. If it ever stops being affordable, the fix would be a limit or a paid tier, and either would be announced here and inside the app before it happened rather than appearing one morning.

Nothing on this page is a legal commitment about the future. It is an accurate description of today, which is the most a page like this can honestly be.

Android

Also free, once it is out

The Android build is in closed testing and is not on Google Play yet. It has the same thirteen features and the same price. Google requires twelve testers to run a closed test for fourteen days before a new developer account can publish publicly, and that is the step in progress.
