Privacy Policy

Praana is a personal wellness tracker. It reads health data you explicitly grant access to, uses it to show you your own trends, and does not sell it. This page is the same policy shown inside the app.

DATA WE COLLECT

Information We Collect

  1. 1Profile information you voluntarily provide: name, age, biological sex, fitness level, and profile photo.
  2. 2Health and fitness data from Android Health Connect: heart rate, HRV, resting heart rate, sleep, steps, distance, calories burned, exercise sessions, SpO₂, blood glucose and blood pressure - only after you grant permission.
  3. 3OvaFlow data you log directly in the app: menstrual cycle dates, period duration, daily symptoms, flow level, and mood.
  4. 4Hydration and mood entries you record manually within the app.
  5. 5Anonymous usage analytics: screen views, feature interactions, settings changes, and app open counts. Your identity is never attached to these events.
  6. 6Account information from Google Sign-In: your name, email address, and a unique account identifier provided by those services.
  7. 7Device and app diagnostics: crash reports, hang events, launch time, and screen load durations. No health data is included.

How We Use Your Data

  1. 1To provide personalized wellness insights, trends, and recommendations based on your health data.
  2. 2To calculate HRV scores, stress levels, sleep quality, and fitness metrics displayed in the app.
  3. 3To send you wellness notifications, reminders, and alerts you configure in Settings.
  4. 4To improve the Praana app through aggregated, anonymized analytics — never tied to your personal identity.
  5. 5To authenticate your account and maintain session security.
  6. 6To send important service communications such as Terms updates or security alerts.

STORAGE

Data Storage & Security

  1. 1Your health data is stored locally on your device and is never uploaded to Praana’s servers without your explicit consent.
  2. 2Account and profile data is stored securely using Firebase with encryption in transit and at rest.
  3. 3We implement industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption, secure authentication, and regular security audits.
  4. 4Health Connect data remains on your device and is governed by Android’s Health Connect privacy policy in addition to ours.
  5. 5You can delete all your data at any time from Settings → Privacy & Data → Delete My Data.

SHARING

Data Sharing

  1. 1We do not sell your personal or health data to third parties — ever.
  2. 2We do not share your health data with advertisers, data brokers, or any commercial third parties.
  3. 3Anonymized, aggregated analytics data may be used to improve Praana but cannot be traced back to any individual.
  4. 4We may share information with law enforcement only when legally required by valid court order or government request.
  5. 5If Praana is acquired by another company, your data will remain subject to this Privacy Policy, and we will notify you before any change.

YOUR RIGHTS

Your Privacy Rights

  1. 1You have the right to access all personal data we hold about you at any time.
  2. 2You can request correction of inaccurate personal data through the Profile settings.
  3. 3You can delete your account and all associated data from Settings → Privacy & Data at any time.
  4. 4Under GDPR, you have the right to data portability — you can export your data in a machine-readable format.
  5. 5Under CCPA, California residents have the right to know what data is collected and to opt out of any data sales (we don’t sell data, but the right applies).
